Effective date: November 3, 2026
Hobby Hen Farms (“we”, “us”) runs hobbyhenfarms.com, a chicken DNA testing service in East Tennessee. This notice explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. Questions: hello@hobbyhenfarms.com.
What we collect
- Account details you give us: first name, last name, email address, and a password. Passwords are stored in scrambled (hashed) form; we cannot read them.
- Order details: the Bird IDs you type, the number of tests, the amount paid, the payment status, and the date.
- Test results for each Bird ID, entered by us after testing.
- Messages you send us by email.
- Basic technical information every website receives, such as your IP address and browser type, held in our web host’s server logs for security.
Payment card details are entered into a secure box provided by Stripe, our payment processor. Card numbers never reach or are stored on our website. Stripe’s handling of your data is described in the Stripe Privacy Policy.
How we use it
- To create and secure your account and let you log in.
- To take payment, match your mailed samples to your order, run the tests, and show you the results.
- To email you about your order: confirmation, mailing instructions, and when results are ready.
- To answer your questions and keep records for accounting and tax purposes.
We do not sell or rent your information, and we do not send marketing email.
Who can see your information
- You can see only your own batches and results after logging in. Other customers cannot see them.
- Stripe receives your name, email address, and payment amount to process the charge.
- Hostinger hosts our website and email, so your data is stored on its servers under its security measures.
- We may disclose information if the law requires it.
Cookies and tracking
Our site sets cookies only to keep you logged in and to remember your session. We do not use advertising cookies or cross-site tracking, and no other parties collect information about your activity across other websites through our site. Because we do not track visitors across sites, the site does not respond differently to browser “Do Not Track” signals.
Your choices
- Review or update your name, email, or password by logging in, or by emailing us.
- Ask us to delete your account and personal information by emailing hello@hobbyhenfarms.com. We may keep payment records as long as tax and accounting rules require.
How long we keep it
Account and result records are kept while your account is active so you can look back at earlier batches. Server logs are kept for a short period by our host.
Security
The site uses HTTPS encryption, hashed passwords, and admin-only access to results. No online service is perfectly secure, so please use a strong, unique password.
Children
This service is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their information. Anyone under 18 should order through a parent or guardian.
Changes
If we change this notice in a meaningful way, we will post the new version here with a new effective date.
